Ireland-China Sourcing & Import Case Study

In 2006, The Horse and Jockey Inn Hotel in Tipperary, Ireland undertook a significant Capital Development. The extension included, 36 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a Business Centre incorporating a Boardroom, several meeting rooms and an auditorium, a beauty spa and swimming pool, a new reception area and a café.
Ogham Sourcing Ltd, sourced, purchased, scheduled and delivered the majority of the furniture and fittings for this development.

The following account gives a brief insight into Ogham Sourcing’s Contribution to this development:

Conference Rooms:

All of the Business Centre furniture, including Conference Tables and Chairs were sourced in China. Individual cabinets were custom designed and manufacture for each room.




		Bathroom Fittings and Tiles: All of sanitary ware and tiling, both for the Hotel’s public areas and for the En-suite Bathrooms were all sourced and supplied from China. Unique items such as vanity units were manufactured to the Architects’ designs and specifications


	Auditorium: The Auditorium Seating and Lighting were sourced and supplier by Ogham, indeed practically all of the lighting for the hotel, from recessed lighting and free-standing lamps and fittings to Car Park and exterior Lighting, all was sourced in China at a much more competitive cost than was available in Ireland or the United Kingdom




	Bedroom Furniture: All of the bedroom furniture was sourced and imported and supplied on schedule by Ogham. Once again this was manufactured to the design specified by the Architect and the Interior Designer. Additionally the the bespoke bathroom lighting was designed and manufactured to the customer’s requirements.

Lobby/Break-out Area:

All furniture, together with the Solid Wood Flooring and Lighting for this area was sourced and imported by Ogham and delivered on schedule at the site.


	Reception Area: The Marble Flooring for the reception area. was cut from stone selected by the Architect during his visit to China. It was delivered, ready to fit as was the stone facade also shown in these pictures.

This sourcing and importing project was a great success for the customer, and for Ogham Sourcing, and the imported products have received much praise and admiration since the hotel extension was officially opened early in 2007.
